Just off the back terrace is the upper pond, lushly planted and well-populated with a multitude of fish and other water inhabitants. Burgundy and silver foliage and strong textures provide dramatic contrast year-round: ajuga, mazus, lamb's ears and dianthus give carpet to the play of perennials, grasses and evergreens on the water's edge.
The Chartreuse Garden carries the owner's favorite color scheme of chartreuse and magenta, muted with greens, soft silvers, yellows, and whites. Large social gatherings may be held on the expanse of lawn, while a bench invites just one or two.
